Nothing says 4th of July like BBQ’s, fireworks, sunshine and red, white & blue themed EVERYTHING. Whether you are hosting a big party, or staying home with the family, the below craft is a fun way to embrace the holiday- giving a classic décor item an Independence Day makeover.
1. Prepare the Tissue Paper
Take a single sheet of tissue paper in red, white, or blue.
2. Cut the Fringe
Fold it once lengthwise, once widthwise, and one more time widthwise. Remember, one sheet of tissue paper will make four tassels.
Cut small strips of tissue paper, leaving a 2-inch uncut portion at the top. Tip: Ensure the 2-inch uncut section is on the fold.
3. Separate the Sections
Unfold the tissue paper once and cut it down the middle.
Take one half and unfold it again to create two sections.
Repeat with the second half. You should now have four separate sections.
4. Roll Up
Take each section one at a time and roll the center portion. The fringe can get tangled, so gently run your fingers through the fringe to keep it smooth.
5. Create Tassels
Fold each tassel in half and twist the sides in opposite directions until a loop forms at the top.
6. Assemble the Garland
Finally, Alternate the colors of the tassels on a piece of twine to create a beautiful, firework-inspired garland.
